<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of a display device capable of maintaining the white balance and the gradation characteristics even when the display brightness is changed. <P>SOLUTION: A driving method is of a display device comprising: pixels each of which has a light-emitting device, a driving transistor, a retention volume and light emission period control means; data lines; and reference voltage lines. In the driving method, data voltage is supplied from the data lines to each pixel every frame period, written in the retention volume, and then either of predetermined first and second reference voltages different from each other is supplied from the reference voltage lines sequentially followed by the other. One frame period includes a first period in which light is emitted in a first light emission level corresponding to the data voltage and the first reference voltage, and a second period in which light is emitted in a second light emission level corresponding to the data voltage and the second reference voltage. The light emission period control means changes the first and the second periods at the same ratio, and thereby changes the display brightness of the light-emitting device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
