<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biomolecule detection device capable of performing high sensitivity measurement. <P>SOLUTION: An orientation direction of binding molecules 15 in a solution is periodically switched by periodically switching an illumination direction of orientation-controlling light 117.
