<p>1,175,232. Two-part couplings; terminals for electric motors. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. 21 July, 1967 [22 July, 1966; 21 Sept., 1966; 15 April, 1967], No. 33555/67. Headings H2A and H2E. A connector body 10 is mounted on an electric motor casing 1 by members of which at least some are integral with the body, the body having bores which house contacts connected to the motor winding, and a forwardly-projecting hood which receives a co-operating connector 9-12. The mounting members may be a pair of L-shaped rails (13, 14, Figs. 2 and 3, not shown), or alternatively a single T-shaped rail, which engage the side edges of an aperture in the motor casing 1, and a resilient lance (15) which engages an end edge of the aperture, the rails and lance being integral with the connector body. Alternatively, integral resilient hooks on the body snap-fit in bores in the motor casing. Resilient members hold together the connectors 9 and 10. In another arrangement, Fig. 4, resilient catches 20, 22 on a connector body 17 which is a one-piece plastics moulding engage forward and rearward edges of an aperture 24 in a motor casing 23, flanges (44, 45, Fig. 4a, not shown) on the body 17 engaging the side edges of the aperture 24. Lifting of a rear wall 42 which is joined to the remainder of the body 17 by a flexible web 21 enables insertion of contact pins 18, 19 into bores in the body 17, where they are retained by lances 25. Alternatively (Fig. 6, not shown), the contacts (34) or their lead wires are moulded in the connector body. The forward resilient mounting catch 22 may be replaced by a metal earthing clip (Figs. 5 and 7, not shown) which is secured by a screw to the motor casing. The motor winding 3, Fig. 1, is accommodated in a stack of stator laminations 2, a shaft 6, to which the rotor 7 is secured, being mounted on a bearing 5 carried by a bearing end-plate 4.</p> |
