PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling a fan of an outdoor unit in a gas heat pump system are provided to prevent the condensation of refrigerant in an outdoor unit by stopping a fan of the outdoor unit when the temperature of exterior air decreases below the saturation temperature of refrigerant. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling a fan of an outdoor unit in a gas heat pump system comprises an exterior air temperature detector(60), a compressor inlet pressure detector(70), and a controller(80). The exterior air temperature detector is installed in an outdoor unit and detects the temperature of exterior air. The compressor inlet pressure detector is installed in the inlet of a compressor and detects the pressure at the inlet. During a heating operation, the controller periodically compares the saturation temperature of refrigerant corresponding to the compressor inlet pressure and the exterior air temperature and stops the operation of the fan of the outdoor unit when the saturation temperature is higher than the exterior air temperature.
