PURPOSE: An auto-focusing camera module with an actuator capable of linearly moving and a linear driving method for the actuator thereof are provided to make an accurate auto-focusing possible by obtaining a linear driving of an actuator based on nonlinear characteristic function of a nonlinear actuator composing a camera module. CONSTITUTION: An auto-focusing camera module with an actuator(40) capable of linearly moving comprises an actuator, a driving signal output unit(10), a function storing unit(20), and a driving signal converting unit(30). The actuator motor transfers a driving force to the lens so that a focal distance between a lens and image sensor is adjusted. The driving signal output unit outputs linear diving signals corresponding to the driving force based on an auto-focusing algorithm. The function storing unit stores nonlinear characteristic function information decided based on a measurement driving distance according to the linear driving signals. The driving signal converting unit converts the output linear driving signals into the nonlinear driving signals corresponding to the linear driving distance of the actuator based on the stored nonlinear characteristic function information.
