PURPOSE: A sound absorbing material, a producing method thereof, and a utilization method thereof are provided to offer the superior water repellency of a reinforced water-repellent nonwoven fabric to the material. CONSTITUTION: A producing method of a sound absorbing material comprises the following steps: mixing polyol, isocyanate, a catalyst, and an additive, and foaming the mixture to obtain a foamed polyurethane foam(100); aging the polyurethane foam for 1-3 days; slicing the aged polyurethane foam into 10-30T; and attaching a reinforced water-repellent nonwoven fabric(200) on at least one side of the polyurethane foam. The reinforced water-repellent nonwoven fabric is obtained by mixing regular PET with 5-20% of low melting point PET fibers for bonding into 60-70% of acrylic emulsion based chemical binder, and coating the surface of the obtained fabric using a silicon based water-repellent agent having medium viscosity.
