PURPOSE: A water purifying apparatus is provided to maximize the purifying efficiency of water and to save energy by increasing the processing capacity of the water and minimizing the use of power. CONSTITUTION: A water purifying apparatus includes a tubular shaped inlet(2), a tubular shaped filtering pipe(4), filtering baths(5), and a filtering element(6). The inlet includes a water inlet(1). The filtering pipe includes a purified water outlet(3) and surrounds the outer side of the inlet. The filtering baths are arranged in a space between the inner circumference of the filtering pipe and the outer circumference of the inlet and filters water by precipitation through the inlet through a stacked staircase form. The filtering element is arranged in the filtering baths. Microorganisms decomposing the precipitated organic materials are collected in the filtering element. Water freely drops through the filtering baths.
