<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honing technique capable of detecting a machining amount in regard to machining of a bore part with a curved surface. <P>SOLUTION: The honing device includes a first air micro nozzle 11 disposed in a tip side of a head body 30 from a grinding wheel 22, a second air micro nozzle 12 disposed in a base end side of the head body 30 away from the first air micro nozzle 11 for just a feed amount in an axial direction for one rotation or a plurality of rotations of a honing head, first distance detecting means 13 for detecting a distance between the first air micro nozzle 11 and a face to be machined, second distance detecting means 14 for detecting a distance between the second air micro nozzle 12 and the face to be machined, and calculating means 16 for determining a difference between the distance acquired by the first distance detecting means 13 and the distance acquired by the second distance detecting means 14.
