PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method of a sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis by a genetic testing.

SOLUTION: The inspection method of the sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis contains a step of measuring a copy number of an isopentenyl-diphosphate isomerase 1 gene and/or an isopentenyl-diphosphate isomerase 2 gene as to a sample that has been separated from a living body. A higher copy number than a healthy subject indicates a high possibility of the sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or the risk of developing it.
