<p>A torsional shock absorber capable of effectively utilizing a friction surface in a hysteresis unit is provided. The torsional shock absorber comprises: a first damper unit that absorbs torsional shock between a first rotating member and a second rotating member using elastic force; and a hysteresis unit that absorbs torsional shock between the first rotating member and the second rotating member using frictional force. The hysteresis unit has: a control plate that rotates synchronously with the first rotating member when the first rotating member is twisted on one direction side of the second rotating member, and rotates synchronously with the second rotating member when twisted on the other direction side; a first thrust member engaged so as to be non-rotatable around the control plate and movable along the shaft direction, and is slideable along the second rotating member; and a first elastic member that impels the first thrust member towards the second rotating member, is slideable along the first thrust member, and is non-rotatable around the second rotating member.</p>
