970,014. Measuring length. KONTROLLHUDAR ANDELSALAKTERIERNAS FOREN U. p. a. Feb.11, 1963 [Dec. 18, 1962], No. 5522/63. Heading G1M. A predetermined length of intestine is measured off by means of a draw wheel 8, driven through a slipping clutch, which draws the intestine past one of a number of measuring wheels 24 each appropriate for a particular calibre of intestine. The intestine is held against measuring wheel 24 by a spring urged brake 30 so that movement of the intestine rotates measuring wheel 24 and, through a transmission 20, rotates a counting wheel 22. When the wheel 22 has completed one revolution a spring 36 thereon engages an abutment 38 mounted on a shaft 40. After further rotation of wheel 22 a pin 34 engages the spring 36 and this causes the shaft 40 to rotate. An engaging element 42 mounted on shaft 40 is thus moved against draw wheel 8 preventing further rotation. The length of intestine drawn off is a predetermined quantity depending on the transmission ratio between the measuring wheel 24 and a counter wheel 22. The shaft is reset by a handle 44 and a further length may be measured. |
