A hay tedder comprises a main frame adapted for connection to the hitch links of a tractor at 15 and 16, the. frame having a rearwardly extending member 17 to which are attached by universal joints a pair of tine drums adapted to be driven from the power take-off of the tractor. Each tine drum is carried by an arched frame 30 supported at its extremity by height adjustable wheels 45. Maximum vertical movements of the tine drums are limited on one hand by chains and on the other by a rubber buffer and the drums are adpusted in a horizontal plane by telescopic struts 48, 49. The height of the frame member 17 is contralled by a height adjustable ground wheel. The power-takeoff of the tractor drives a pulley arrangement 73, 75 which drives through gearing 76 and a sprocket and chain in the frame 17 a sprocket on a short transverse shaft 81 which drives the drums through universal joints. The tine drums comprise two triangular plates 54, see Fig. 1 (not shown), secured to which are channel members 55 adjustable thereon to alter the rake of the tines. In an embodiment a swarth divider comprising a series of prongs extending downwardly and rearwardly is detachably secured to the frame member 17. |
