PURPOSE: Absorbent for volatile organic compounds and a method for absorbing volatile organic compounds using the same are provided to adjust the porosity of the absorbent and the performance of absorption according to the kinds of volatile organic compounds. CONSTITUTION: Absorbent for volatile organic compounds includes acrylamide-based polymer with one or more repeating units which are represented by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, n is the integer of 15 to 1800; R is a hydrogen element or a methyl group; R' is X, -Y-NH(C=O)-X, -X-Y-(C=O)NH-X, -X-Y-(C=O)NH-Y-(C=O)NH-X, or -X-Y-(C=O)NH-Y-(C=O)NH-X-Y-(C=O)NH-X; X is -Z-R''; Y is a C1 to C10 alkylene group; Z is a C6 to C20 arylene group; and R'' is a C10 to C20 linear or branched hydrocarbon group or a C1 to C20 linear or branched perfluorohydrocarbon group.
