PURPOSE: An apparatus for diagnosing ultrasound wave and a method for tracking the movement of tissues are provided to improve the accuracy of measurement by tracking a target object in a defined region containing the minor axis of blood vessels. CONSTITUTION: A transmitting and receiving unit(110) receives ultrasound wave which is reflected from the pre-set region of a subject. A first memory unit(115) successively stores data for the ultrasound wave. An image generating unit(121) generates ultrasound wave images with the section image of minor axis directional blood vessel based on the data. A displaying unit(127) displays the ultrasound wave images. A region of interest setting unit(125) sets a plurality of regions of interest on the inner wall and the outer wall of a blood vessel on the ultrasound wave images. A tracking unit(122) tracks the movement of tissues in the subject corresponding to the regions of interest. A second memory unit stores information for the movement of the tissues.
