PURPOSE: A cooling water draining device for a rolling mill is provided to prevent partial cooling of a work piece by providing a suction force only to a portion where remaining water exists. CONSTITUTION: A cooling water draining device for a rolling mill comprises a plurality of suction ducts, a door, a driving unit(70), a sensing unit, and a control unit. The plurality of suction ducts are installed facing transfer rollers of a rolling mill. The door is installed on in the suction ducts and opened/closed by the driving unit. The sensing unit senses cooling water flowing in through the suction ducts. The control unit activates the driving unit to close the suction ducts when the sensing unit senses no cooling water for a set time.
