PURPOSE: A connection setting method of a wireless receiving device and a display device using the same are provided to setup a connection of two devices through inspection of compatibility between a display device and a wireless receiving device. CONSTITUTION: A controlling unit confirms control cable connection of a wireless receiving device and a display device(S300). An external device interface unit receives version information of the receiving device by using the connected control cable(S310). The controlling unit terminates connection setup of the wireless receiving device(S320,S330).
