PURPOSE: A method for encoding/decoding an image using an encoding structure which is determined based on a global motion and a device thereof are provided to effectively reduce the amount of generating bits in encoding an image by selecting an adaptive encoding structure. CONSTITUTION: An encoding structure determining unit(210) adaptively determines an encoding structure in consideration of the size and a variation of global motion of an encoding target image. The encoding structure determining unit generates an image sequence from the encoding target image according to the determined encoding structure. An inter-prediction encoding unit(220) performs inter-prediction encoding on the generated image sequence according to the determined encoding structure. |
