Layering process for the production of three-dimensional component using copolyamide powder, comprises selectively melting the respective powder layer using electromagnetic energy, where the powder is produced from monomer components comprising: laurolactam or omega -aminoundecanoic acid; sebacic acid or dodecanedioic acid; or decanediamine or dodecanediamine. An independent claim is included for the copolyamide powder.
