<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device attaining further shortening of a start-up time, improvement of fixing property, and elongation of a service life with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: Assuming that a contact width of a pressure roller 31 with high rigidity is defined as L1, the full width of a fixing roller 21 is defined as L2, and an external interval of support portions of support members 41 and 41 for supporting both the ends of the fixing roller 21 is defined as L3, this fixing device is configured to simultaneously satisfy the following relations: L2≤L1 and L2≤L3. The full width of the fixing roller 21 that is deformable is narrower than the contact width of the pressure roller 31, the support members 41 that support the fixing roller 21 at both the ends and the pressure roller 31 are disposed to prevent mechanical interference, and the plurality of support members 41 and 42 coming into contact with the fixing roller 21 at a plurality of points are radially disposed around the periphery of the fixing roller 21.
