<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid occurrence of wear of a photoreceptor, damage to a cleaning member, and so on by restraining an increase in the coefficient of friction between the photoreceptor and the cleaning member even when detecting the film thickness of a photosensitive layer. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the photoreceptor 1 on the surface of which the photosensitive layer is formed; a charger 2 for charging the photoreceptor 1; a developing unit 4 for forming a toner image on the surface of the photoreceptor 1; a cleaning member 6 for removing residual matter on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 by slide friction against the surface; a film thickness detecting means for detecting the film thickness of the photoreceptive layer on the basis of a current value obtained from the charger; and a friction decreasing means for reducing the coefficient of friction between the surface of the photoreceptor 1 and the cleaning member 6 when the film thickness detecting means detects the film thickness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
