<p>A vehicle powertrain comprising a multiple speed transmission (100) with ratio range gearing (102) is disclosed. The range gearing (102) provides increased ratio coverage. A transition between a low speed range and a high speed range is achieved with no torque interruption whereby a gear ratio shift between the highest gear ratio in the low speed range and the lowest gear ratio in the high speed range occurs in a seamless fashion.</p> |
