<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply power to a suitable functional section, in an information processing apparatus which includes a plurality of functional sections and is communicable with a power source monitoring device, in accordance with whether a main power switch is operated by an operator of the information processing apparatus or a power-on instruction is received from the power source monitoring device. <P>SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus is communicable with a power source monitoring device via a network and includes a plurality of functional sections. When a main power switch is manually operated by an operator in a state where power is not supplied to the plurality of functional sections, power is supplied to each of the plurality of functional sections.
