PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduction device that provide quality three-dimensional video to a viewer that reflects the intention of a creator of a two-dimensional video content, which is to display a two-dimensional video content as a three-dimensional video or to apply some limitations to a content.

SOLUTION: A reproduction method includes a step for decoding a content and a step for outputting the decoded content to an external display device, and is configured to add information about limitation of three-dimensional display to the content to be output if the content to be output is a content that is limited in three-dimensional display.
