<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent disconnection by preventing derailment of a wire in a wire saw, and to reduce abrasion of groove rollers. <P>SOLUTION: The wire saw is provided for cutting a workpiece 25 into a large number of thin plates by making the wire 4 travel in one direction or travel reciprocatably, by pressing the workpiece 25 to a wire row formed by winding the wire 4 on a multi-row between the groove rollers 7a and 7b, and at least one groove roller 7b is formed of a metallic roller lower in a friction coefficient than the other groove roller 7a. A groove shape of the groove rollers 7a and 7b is formed in an inverse trapezoidal shape, and a rotating speed of the groove roller 7b is quickened a little more than that of the groove roller 7a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
