<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the capacity in a downlink in a CDMA-system communication system using an array antenna. <P>SOLUTION: A communication system allocates a beam for each path, and controls a transmission timing, a spread code, and channel coding to increase the capacity. A base station has: transmission means transmitting a plurality of directivity transmission beams, each of which carries a transmission signal representing a signal to be transmitted, to a reception device via different transmission paths; and encoding means encoding the transmission signals carried by the transmission beams.
