PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for resetting an integrated circuit are provided to shorten reset operation time by immediately performing a reset operation if a reset command is inputted when an operation command is performed. CONSTITUTION: A command interface(310) outputs address information or control signal according to an input command. A reset control unit(340) outputs address information about a storage position of algorithm regarding a reset command. An address decoder(320) counts addresses using address information from the command interface or reset control unit as a start address and outputs a counting address. An algorithm unit(330) stores algorithm regarding an execution command or reset command and executes algorithm selected according to the counting address.
