<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector and a projection control method for shortening a time until an input image is projected without making a user consider that a light source is not stable in the case of start-up. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 1 includes: a lamp 14; an image projection part 50 for projecting an image by using the rays of light of a light source by the lamp 14; a light source state measurement part 60 for outputting a result of measurement showing the state of the light source part; and a projection image control part 80 for controlling the image projection part 50. The projection image control part 80 controls a stand-by image projection time as a time when the image projection part 50 is made to project a prescribed stand-by image which is different from an input image before being made to project the input image after the supply of power to the lamp 14 based on the result of measurement from the light source state measurement part 60. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
