<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for multi-gradation display with high accuracy while suppressing an increase in power consumption of cholesteric liquid crystal and a driver circuit 40 in the display device including the cholesteric liquid crystal. <P>SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a display element including a pixel and an electrode connected to the pixel; a voltage driver for applying a pulse group including a first pulse and a second pulse with different polarity to the electrode; and an instruction circuit for selecting one of two or more of the pulses, a duty ratio of the first pulse, and a duty ratio of the second pulse in accordance with the gradation of the pixel and instructing the voltage driver on the selection result. The gradation the pixel can display is set based on the combination between the two or more pulses and the duty ratio of the first pulse and the duty ratio of the second pulse. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
