A congestion detection method and apparatus for cells in mobile network are provided, which relate to mobile communication technology field, and congestion detection and data distribution can be realized through core network element. The congestion detection method for cells in mobile network includes: acquiring a round trip time of a cell data message in real time; comparing the round trip time with a preset congestion round trip time threshold value, if the round trip time is longer than the congestion round trip time threshold value, determining the cell is overloaded and congestion, and if the round trip time is shorter than the congestion round trip time threshold value, determining the cell is not congestion. |
