<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight of a motor housing of a small motor and to secure sufficient strength although the weight of the housing is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: A commutator motor 12 displayed as one example of the small motor includes the motor housing 17 which is die cast-molded with magnesium alloy. The motor housing 17 includes a cylindrical body portion 27 holding a stator 18; a flange portion 28 formed at a front end of the body portion 27; and an end bracket portion 29 formed at a rear end of the body portion 27. A bearing holding portion 16 holding a bearing 23 of the rotor 19 is formed in the end bracket portion 29. A plurality of reinforcement ribs 31 extending in an axial direction are formed on an outer face-side of the motor housing 17 at prescribed intervals in the body portion 27. A plurality of reinforcement ribs 32 extending in a radial direction are formed on an inner face-side of the motor housing 17 at prescribed intervals in the end bracket portion 29. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
