<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoding apparatus capable of performing efficiently in-image encoding when color component resolution of an input image signal is in 4:2:2 format. <P>SOLUTION: The image information encoding apparatus 10 encodes an image signal containing a color difference signal by using a predicted image generated by an intra-prediction section 23 which generates a predicted image by dividing it into 8×8 pixel blocks if a chroma format signal, which shows the resolution of the color difference signal of the image signal, is in 4:2:2 format, and a prediction mode is DC mode when performing an in-image prediction encoding of the color difference signal in 8×16 pixel block unit, having 8×8 pixel blocks arranged in longitudinal direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
