<p>The pitch is mixed at 100-140 degrees C with one or more vinyl (co)polymers pref. PVC. Pref. 37 pbw of PVC (K value 60) 10 pbw pitch, 16 pbw heavy tar oil, 16 pbw loose ash, 20 pbw plasticizers, and 1 pbw stabilizer, are mixed in the cold, to gove a dry, earthy, powder which is then melted in a mixer and held at 115 degrees C for 6 mins to obtain a firm, elastic paste. Opt. the ash may be replaced by asbestos fibres. Used as paints, plaster, mastic in building etc., and to give sheets, mouldings, profiles etc.</p> |
