<p>A gaseous organosilane charge is pyrolysed by contacting with a heated W filament, and the silicon carbide whisker drawn out as in the parent specification. The whisker is then electrolytically treated in alkaline medium. Pref. the reaction chamber is surrounded by concentric heat screen and thermal gradient furnace.</p> |
