ANTI-GLARE FILM, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ANTI-GLARE FILM, POLARIZING PLATE, AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

An anti-glare film that exhibits excellent anti-glare performance and can suitably prevent surface glare and contrast loss. Said anti-glare film has: a light-transmitting substrate; and a diffusion layer that is formed on at least one surface of the light-transmitting substrate and has a textured surface. The anti-glare film is characterized in that: the aforementioned diffusion layer contains a cured binder component and organic microparticles (A) dispersed in said cured binder component; and the index of refraction (NA) of the organic microparticles (A) prior to inclusion in the diffusion layer, the index of refraction (nA) of said organic microparticles (A) in the diffusion layer, and the index of refraction (nb) of the cured binder component satisfy relation (1).
