<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage processor capable of setting identification information appropriate to a storage medium; and to provide a fail-over control method. <P>SOLUTION: When a NAS 10 transmits a configuration start notification information to a NAS 20, in other words, when a configuration of a fail-over system is started by the NAS 10 and the NAS 20, the NAS 10 sets an individual identification key of a hard disk connected to itself and stores it in an identification information setting region. However, when the individual identification key is stored in the identification information setting region of the hard disk 151 connected to itself, the NAS 10 does not perform the setting and storage of the individual identification key.
