<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for manufacturing a catalyst body by which carbon nanotube having excellent quality composition can be obtained at high yield by simple steps and facilities. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the catalyst body for synthesizing the carbon nanotube includes a step for heating up slurry liquid including magnesium hydroxide manufactured using a catalyst metal and a metal magnesium as raw materials as the catalyst body manufacturing step and is characterized in that after recovering solid matter from the slurry liquid, magnesium oxide is made from the magnesium hydroxide by heating the solid matter in the presence of oxygen. In the method for manufacturing the carbon nanotube, the carbon nanotube is manufactured by bringing the catalyst body manufactured by the above method into contact with the hydrocarbon gas under temperatures 500 to 1,200°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
