<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect discontinuous contour edges properly. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device 1c of one embodiment of the present invention includes: a contour candidate edge detection unit 16 that detects edges based on gradient strength of each pixel of an intraluminal image and uses the detected edges as contour candidate edges; a contour edge detection unit 17 that performs threshold processing on gradient strength of the contour candidate edges and detects a contour edge; an interpolation generating unit 18c that, using an end point of the contour edge as a connection origin and an end point of the other contour edge as a connection destination, generates a plurality of interpolation lines connecting a plurality of end point pairs same in the end point of the contour edge as the connection origin and different in the end point of the other contour edge as the connection destination based on pixel value gradients between the end point pairs; and a contour edge interpolation unit 19c that selects one interpolation line from among the plurality of interpolation lines based on pixel value gradients in pixels on the plurality of interpolation lines and interpolates the contour edge between the end point pairs connected by the selected interpolation line by the selected interpolation line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
