<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system that allows a user to make and cancel a setting of a security device while viewing the security device through a video on a display of a portable terminal away from home. <P>SOLUTION: Each monitoring target site A-D has security devices 2-5 and a controller 1 installed therein. Each controller is connected to a management server 10 through a router 6 and a hub 7 via the Internet 9. Portable terminals 12a-12d are connected to the Internet. When an error is detected at the monitoring target site, a relating portable terminal is notified of the error. With the portable terminal, settings of the security devices are made or cancelled. Monitoring cameras 8a-8e are installed in the monitoring target site, and connected to the Internet through the router and the hub. The portable terminal is connected to a relating router, and then directly operates the monitoring cameras.
