<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a compression molded product which does not use petroleum-based resin or reduces use amount of petroleum-based resin, has high mechanical strength and uses a plant material suitable for a casing of electronic equipment. <P>SOLUTION: First, wooden chips are treated to have a predetermined shape. Next, while the treated wooden chips are heated, pressure is applied, so as to precipitate a plant-derived adhesion component from the wooden chips.
