The separator comprises a closed housing (3) which is provided with an inlet (6) for the product to be filtered, a discharge (11) for the filtered product and an outlet (5) for the filtered residue. A sliding element (9) is provided as a cutting sliding element with a wedge angle that is formed between zero degree and ninety degree. The sliding element forms a cutting element between zero degree and ninety degree with the filter inner wall in operating condition. The sliding element is made of plastic.
