PURPOSE: A novel methylcyclohexane derivative and a pharmaceutical composition containing the same are provided to suppress NO generatioin and to effectively prevent or treat pain. CONSTITUTION: A methylcyclohexane derivative is denoted by chemical formula I. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating pain contains the compound of chemical formula I and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The pain is chronic or acute pain. A method for treating the pain comprises a step of contacting the pharmaceutical composition.
