PURPOSE: A payment apparatus using a personal terminal and method thereof are provided to induce a user to rationally use a card by guiding a benefit method to the user in a member store. CONSTITUTION: A universal subscriber identification module(230) registers plural credit cards which support credit payment. A wireless transmission and reception unit receives payment guide information in a member store. The wireless transmission and reception unit transmits and receives necessary information according to a payment procedure in a payment terminal. A payment processing unit(220) selects one credit card of the credit cards as a preferred payment unit based on the payment guide information.
