3D DISPLAY DEVICE USING BARRIER AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

Disclosed is a 3D display device. The 3D display device includes: a display panel unit for outputting multi-view images; a barrier unit which is arranged at one side of the display panel unit; and a control unit which performs a controlling function for alternately forming a light-transmitting area and a light-shielding area in the barrier unit. The barrier unit includes: a liquid crystal layer; a plurality of upper electrodes which are separated from each other and sequentially arranged on an upper surface of the liquid crystal layer; and a plurality of lower electrodes which are separated from each other and sequentially arranged on a lower surface of the liquid crystal layer. Accordingly, the present invention enables a user to effectively watch 3D content.
