<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide which reduces transmission loss and bluntness of a pulse signal and is highly reliable, and an electronic apparatus including the optical waveguide. <P>SOLUTION: An optical waveguide 1 includes a core layer 13 and clad layers 11 and 12 arranged on respective faces of the core layer 13. In the core layer 13, two core parts 141 and 142 in parallel and three side-face clad parts 151, 152 and 153 in parallel are provided alternately. The core layer 13 has a refractive index distribution W including four minimum values Ws1, Ws2, Ws3 and Ws4 and five maximal values Wm1, Wm2, Wm3, Wm4 and Wm5, in which a part between the minimum value Ws1 and the minimum value Ws2 is the core part 141 and a part between the minimum value Ws3 and the minimum value Ws4 is the core part 142. Each minimum value is lower than an average refractive index WA in the side-face clad parts. In the entire refractive index distribution W, the refraction index changes continuously. On the other hand, a refractive index distribution T of thickness direction of the optical waveguide 1 is the so-called step index type. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
