<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory card connector capable of reliably rejecting the insertion of an incompatible memory card via a simple structure, without increasing the size of a case. <P>SOLUTION: A memory card connector comprises: a shutter rotatably supported by a case between a block position to block a card housing part and an open position; two plate spring pieces each of which has an inclined surface inclined from an inner bottom surface or an inner top surface of the card housing part to an inner top surface or an inner bottom surface opposing in an inserting direction of a memory card. A second engaging part of the shutter in a block position engages with a first engaging part of the plate spring pieces in a free state. A gap between the inclined surfaces of the two plate spring pieces and a height of the second engaging part inside the card housing part are set such that at least one of the two plate spring pieces does not respond when an incompatible memory card having a thickness thinner than or a width narrower than that of a compatible memory card is inserted to thereby prevent the engagement between the first engaging part and the second engaging part from being released.
