<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the entry of cutting water with cutting chips mixed therein into a drive mechanism for moving a head stock and a tool post or the like in a turret lathe. <P>SOLUTION: A front edge of a second fixed cover 35 is disposed opposite and above a rear edge of a third movable cover 33 with a lower direction seal gap 101 therebetween. In the seal gap 101, a strip plate-like seal wall 111 extending in a right and left direction rises from a rear edge upper surface of the third movable cover 33 toward a front edge lower surface of the second fixed cover 35. A play gap 114 is formed between the front edge lower surface of the second fixed cover 35 and an upper edge of the seal wall 111. The third movable cover 33 covers a screw bar, and is fixed to a movable table so as to be movable in the right and left direction together with the movable table.
