AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITION

The purpose of the invention is to provide an aqueous coating composition capable of forming coating films of high diffuse light reflectance and low gloss. This aqueous coating composition comprises titanium dioxide and a porous calcium carbonate as pigments. In a preferred embodiment, the porosity of the calcium carbonate is 0.5 cm3/g to 2.5 cm3/g. In a preferred embodiment, the whiteness of the calcium carbonate is 90% to 100%. In a preferred embodiment, the titanium dioxide is in the rutile form.
