The grinder (1) has a working head (5) supported at a machine frame (3) and pivotable around two pivotal axes, where the axes run vertical to each other. A contact roller (11) is movable along one of the axes and supported such that a contact surface region is intersected by the axes when the contact roller is in a dead center position, where the contact roller comes in contact with a work piece. The contact surface region is arranged along one of the axes at a side of a rotational axis of the contact roller, where the side is turned away from the working head.
