<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing technique for an organic electroluminescence (EL) display device or luminaire, and a sealing material therefor. <P>SOLUTION: In an organic EL display device (1) or a luminaire (1) of the invention, an organic EL display panel is sealed by sealing the whole panel periphery with an airtight sealing resin (5) and covered by the reason from all directions, namely top and bottom sides, light and left, and front and back and covered by the reason. Alternatively, air and moisture, which affect the life of the organic EL device, is shut out by dipping or printing on a board except a display part and a light-emitting part of the organic EL panel.
