<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display excellent in color reproducibility and luminance, and to provide a color filter used for the display and a method for producing the color filter. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter 1 comprises a transparent substrate 2 and a color layer 4 disposed on the transparent substrate 2. The color layer 4 includes a red pattern 4R, a green pattern 4G, a blue pattern 4B, and at least one in a yellow pattern 4Y, a magenta pattern 4M and a cyan pattern 4C. These patterns are configured in such a manner that: the thickness Tr, Tg and Tb of the red pattern 4R, the green pattern 4G and the blue pattern 4B, respectively, satisfy the relation of Tr<Tg<Tb; the thickness Ty of the yellow pattern 4Y satisfies the relation of Tr<Ty<Tg; the thickness Tm of the magenta pattern 4M satisfies the relation of Tm=Tg; and the thickness Tc of the cyan pattern 4C satisfies the relation of Tg<Tc<Tb. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
